CARTIER. JOHN F. KENNEDY AND JACQUELINE KENNEDY

On March 18, 1998,Guernesey's, a small auction house in New York, put on sale 600 articles and papers that had belonged to John F. Kennedy. Among them was a golden Cartier watch that his wife, Jacqueline, had given frim for their fourth wedding anniversary.

Kennedy was wearing the watch when he was assassinated in Dallas on November 22, 1963. A nurse at Parkland Hospital took it off his wrist and handed it to the Secret Service to JFK's secretary who left these to a collector, Robert White.
