This year at SIHH, Audemars Piguet revealed 6 stunning all new watches in its Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph Collection.

The ‘26470’ model series still has the case diameter of 42mm, just as the Offshore that launched in 1993, succeeding the smaller Royal Oak watch. This incarnation however, has several aesthetic adjustments for the modern watch enthusiast.

Adjustments include the resizing and redesigning of the chronograph push-pieces, push-piece guards and the case’s crown.  Black ceramic has replaced rubber used on the crown and push-pieces on the previous ‘26170’ Royal Oak Offshore.

The dial features more chiselled looking Arabic numeral markers, highlighted with polished fillet borders; polished borders are also featured on sub dials and round date window.

Luminescent coating has now been added to the hands, along with a new faceted look. The date disk colour also matches the dials, integrating the colour scheme further.

With that being said, the unmistakeable features of the Royal Oak Offshore are still very present: the hexagonal bezel, available in steel (satin brushed or polished) or rose gold, held in place by eight steel hexagonal screws; the ‘AP’ initials in rose or white gold along with the Audemars Piquet brand logo; all of which is finished off with the ‘Mega Tapisserie’ dial.

The ‘26470’ also features a sapphire caseback, showcasing the AP Caliber 3126/3840 automatic movement, which has a 55-hour power reserve. A broader strap and pin buckle are now featured on both rubber and alligator leather, adding the final touches to these timepieces.

These will be available in June 2014.
