Freida Pinto Joins Audemars Piguet

Audemars Piguet have signed Freida Pinto, actress and women’s rights activist, as the brand’s newest watch ambassador.

The Slumdog Millionaire star was unveiled, in Paris, at the launch of Audemars Piguet’s new women’s Millenary watch collection.

Pinto found fame on the big screen in the Oscar award winning film “Slumdog Millionaire”. She is also recognised for her parts in “Miral, “Rise of the Planet of the Apes”, “Black Gold” and “Immortals”.Since 2012, Pinto has been involved in Plan International’s ‘Because I am a Girl’ campaign as global ambassador in support of projects that aid in giving girls access to essentials such as clean water, food, healthcare, education and protection against violence and exploitation.

Since 1883, Audemars Piguet have been developing timepieces for women who demonstrate their core value of "Spirit of Independence". These exceptional women look further than the beauty of these timepieces, they expect, that an Audemars Piguet watch, should be in itself a statement, an expression of the provenance, design and craftsmanship. The Millenary collection holds a unique oval shape giving plenty of scope to reveal the intricate hand-finished inner workings of the models. The result shows off both its creative freedom and technical discipline.

It is in the culture of Audemars Piguet to create timepieces for women who hold a confidence and esprit, women who express their spirit of independence in their own unique way, women such as Freida Pinto, herself.

The actress has been a longstanding friend of Audemars Piguet and has attended several of their events including their party at Art Basel Miami Beach in December.
