It seems hard to believe that a short two years ago the country was caught in the London Olympics 2012 fever and as the Commonwealth Games 2014 kick off, all eyes turn to Glasgow as we become enthralled in the action.

This time, it is Swiss watch brand Longines who have the prestigious task to be the official timekeepers for Commonwealth Games 2014. Having last sponsored the Commonwealth games in 1962 in Perth, Australia, it is no surprise to see Longines back, given their extensive history in sports.

Longines have been at the forefront of creating different methods for more accurate timekeeping technologies and have a unique experience in sporting competition. This ranges not only from the Commonwealth Games but in gymnastics, alpine skiing, the French Open tennis tournament and in particular equestrian sports. Their legacy in equestrian sports began in 1878 with a chronograph watch engraved with a jockey and his mount. Today, Longines still remain loyal sponsors of Royal Ascot and the ‘The World’s Best Racehorse Rankings’ which rate the top thoroughbred racehorses worldwide.

In keeping with tradition, Longines have produced the Official Watch of Glasgow 2014 as part of the Conquest Classic collection. A chronograph set in steel with a mechanical column-wheel calibre, black dial at 41mm. The perfect momento to celebrate the Commonwealth Games 2014.
