As Germany was in uproar after winning the World Cup, it is therefore no surprised that their coach Joachim Löw was all over the papers, sporting an IWC Portuguese Yacht Club Chronograph. It is known that the German Football Club had relations with IWC and a few special edition watches were made for the German Team yet Joachim opted for the standard black dial Yacht Club Chronograph, simple but powerful.

This watch comprises of a thin stainless steel bezel, Arabic numbers and a black dial with contrasting red second hands. The Portugese Yacht Club Chronograph goes back to the 1960 and 1970s and was so exclusive it was one of IWC’s most successful watches to date. Even though, it is available in red gold and rubber coated steel, Joachim Löw chose the bold black with a rubber strap. Such a statement piece was easy to notice as he waved his hands and cheered as the goal was made. There’s only one thing left to say- Congratulations Germany!
