A.Lange & Sohne WWII Aviator Vintage Gents Stainless Steel Black Dial FL23883

A Stainless Steel World War 2 (WWII) Aviator Vintage Gents Wristwatch, black dial with arabic numbers, minute markers with 5 minute intervals on the outer edge of the dial, a fixed stainless steel bezel, plastic glass, manual wind movement, in excellent condition, comes with a presentation box, our own certificate of authenticity and our own one year warranty.

N.B. This vintage piece was designed for the Luftwaffe (German Air-Force) to be worn on the thigh, by navigators, during World War 2 (WWII). A.Lange & Sohne were one of only five companies to manufacture this type of watch, whilst also being one of only two, to use in-house German movements. These pieces were known as B-Uhren, an abbreviation of Beobachtungs-uhren which translates to observation watches. The B-Uhren belonged to the Luftwaffe. They were given to the navigator before their flight and were returned once they had completed their mission. A piece like this would make an excellent addition to one's collection.
