A Silver Niello Open Face Keyless Lever Chronograph Pocket Watch C1900.
Dial: The superb white enamel dial with tachymeter measuring the speed in kilometers per hour written in French. The colours of Blue, Red and Green in descending order of kilometers. The Arabic numerals with minute recorder at twelve o' clock and the subsidiary seconds dial at six o' clock. The original blued steel hands complimenting the dial beautifully.
Case: The highly unusual silver case which is engraved with a Lion rampant holding a shield in high relief and then filled with a type of enamel called Niello. The inner case is plain silver. The cases are Swiss hallmarked and numbered.
Movement: The Keyless Lever movement fully jewelled with compensation balance and fast, slow regulation. The chronograph mechanism is visible on the backplate. The movement is numbered the same as the case.
This is a really beautiful pristine watch in excellent condition with the Niello on the side of the case, on the bezel and on the bow. The dial is also extra special with the colours in enamel. This type of dial was a pre cursor to tachymeter dials on wristwatches.
