Buy & Sell Breguet Watches
Breguet was founded in 1775 by renowned Swiss watchmaker Abraham-Louis Breguet. The young Breguet was regarded as the best watchmaker of his generation and he pioneered many firsts in the world of horology.
We have to thank Breguet for the first automatic winding escapement, the parachute shock protection system, the ruby cylinder escapement, the tourbillon and the Breguet hairspring. All of which improved the reliability and timekeeping of the pocket watches and became standard components of mechanical movements, many of which are still used to this day. Breguet supplied his watches to many famous individuals, including the Queen of Naples and Caroline Murat. But perhaps his most famous customer was Napoleon Bonaparte who was known to have bought at least three Breguet watches during his lifetime.
Today Breguet watches are still regarded as some of the finest in the world and continue to evoke the style and character of the original watches from the 19th Century. The watches are characterised by guilloche dials, embossed with Roman numerals, traditional Breguet hands and cancellated cases, often made from precious metals.
