Dial: The extremely beautiful silver engraved fully signed J. Assmann Dresden dial with raised gold floral and garland centre and raised gold and garland surround with gothic Roman numerals with subsidiary seconds dial at six o'clock . The blued steel Fleur- de -Lis hands and blued steel second hand complementing the dial beautifully.

Case: The superb heavy (126 grams ) 18ct yellow gold case with the front cover being beautifully engine turned with vacant cartouche, the back cover is also beautifully engine turned with the band of the watch also beautifully chased with garlands and flowers. the bow is also finally chased. The inner cover is engraved J. Assmann Dresden with twenty rubies and diamonds and numbered. The cases have German hallmarks and the are all numbered.

Movement: This is an exceptional A Quality three quarter plate keyless lever movement produced by Julius Assmann. The nickel finished movement with gold jewelled screwed chatons, gold train, compensation balance and fast slow regulation. The movement is fully signed and numbered, with the number matching the case number.

Julius Assmann (1827-1886) was a key figure in the history of watchmaking in Glashütte, Germany. He established his own precision pocket watch and chronometer factory in 1852, contributing significantly to the town's reputation for high-quality timepieces. Assmann's watches, particularly his observation watches, were known for their precision and were used by explorers like Roald Amundsen.
