Breguet a Paris. A Rare Gold Keywind Quarter Repeater Cylinder Pocket Watch C1800s

Dial: The perfect white enamel dial with Breguet style numeral and outer fancy minute track at quarter hour interval. The dial signed Breguet a Paris with original gold coloured Breguet style moon hands. The movement is wound through the dial with a key.

Case: The French hallmarked 18ct Rose Gold consular case with engine turning to the back radiating out from the centre of the case. The bezel is set with natural seed pearls. The bezel opens from the front so that the movement can be viewed when lifted out of the case, typical for the period.

Movement: The rare movement which lifts out of the front of the case shows the bell where the hammers hit to chime the hours and quarters. The movement is engraved, signed Breguet a Paris and numbered. The chiming mechanism and the balance wheel are all located under the dial so nothing is visible on the backplate except the signature and the bell.

The rarity of this watch is that the condition for the age of the watch is superb and also it is very rare to find the bell attached to the movement. Nearly all chiming watches had the bell attached to the case. This is a beautiful watch for any collector of rare pieces
