N.B. This model was produced for a one year period, in 1969, where it is estimated that only 1,700 steel pieces were manufactured. Its debut came around the same time that the 6262 reference was also released, where both models are almost identical - except for their bezels where the 6262 is engraved and the 6264 bezel is printed. It is believed that the 6264 reference is one of the rarest and exclusive Daytonas that Rolex ever made. This is a transitional reference, as it was the final Daytona produced without the screw down push-buttons, until it was replaced in 1970 by the 6265, which was one of the last manual-winding Daytonas. The "Daytona" text above 6 0'clock is in a very rare light blue colour and to find a timepiece from this vintage era in excellent condition would make it a fantastic addition to ones collection.
