Diamond Watches – Our top 6
Is it really almost Christmas again? The year has flown by, and once again, it’s time to turn our attention to some gift ideas in anticipation. This week, we’re taking a look at some of our favourite diamond set watches. Diamonds and wristwatches have gone hand in hand since time immemorial, showcasing the skills of both watchmakers and stone setters. Indeed, the addition of diamonds can transform a watch from a simple object into a piece of high jewellery. What better way to make a statement than with some sparkle on your wrist?
Richard Mille RM016
Richard Mille are one of the most exciting young manufactures in the world of watches right now. A blend of cutting edge movement technology, space age materials and achingly cool design concepts means a Richard Mille will always turn heads. With the addition of diamonds, you have an even more striking watch. This particular model uses 18K Rose Gold, and is set with approximately 235 individual diamonds across the case and buckle. This is a diamond watch for the 21st Century.
Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Mid-Size
How do you improve on an icon? The Reverso has been with us for over 80 years, with the ingenious original concept still delighting watch fans to this day. This example shows how versatile the design is, with the addition of two rows of diamonds on the case keeping it delicate and feminine. The choice of an 18K Yellow Gold bracelet shows just how good Jaeger-LeCoultre are at blending the lines between jewellery and horology.
Cartier Panthere “Leopard”
Cartier have taken inspiration for many of their pieces from big cats, with elegance and grace running throughout all of their designs. There are also cases where they take more obvious inspiration, and here is a prime example. A superbly detailed piece, this was launched as a Boutique exclusive, and we think the stone setting and enamel work are simply wonderful. This is certainly one of our more unusual diamond watches
Rolex Day-Date, diamond & ruby pavé dial & Oysterquartz with rubover diamond markers
No list of diamond watches would be complete without one of the most iconic pieces to have diamonds adorn it: the Rolex Day-Date. With this model, you really can choose your perfect level of sparkle, from subtle diamond hour markers, to a fully pave set case, dial, bezel and bracelet. The models highlighted are some of our rarer examples, with the first featuring a highly uncommon diamond and ruby pavé dial. With diamond shoulders and a diamond bezel complimenting it, this is a serious statement for any lover of bling. The second is the retro-futuristic OysterQuartz Day-Date with a subtle rubover diamond setting on the hour markers. The OysterQuartz is rapidly becoming a collector’s item, and we think this late example adds just the right amount of scintillation to lift the face.
One of our quirkiest diamond watches is the Dianoor Chameleon, a watch which features a rotating bezel, which allows the user to change the colours of the stones to suit their mood. This example features approximately 440 intense fancy yellow colour diamonds, unusual enough in itself. The bezel offers a choice of 8 fancy yellow diamonds, 8 white diamonds or 8 pink sapphires. A real masterpiece of stone setting.
We hope that these whet your appetites for the diamond lovers out there, but we have just scratched the surface of what we offer. Take a look at our website for a full selection, and if you have any questions, please get in touch with our team of experts.
