William Wood. A Rare Masonic Skeleton Keywind Fusee Pocket Watch With Royal Provenance C1862

Dial: The silver chapter ring with black Roman numerals and outer minute ring with Arabic five minute intervals. The original blued steel moon phase Breguet style hands with blued steel centre second hand. The movement is fully visible from the front of the watch.

Case: The Heavy 18ct yellow gold Chester hallmarked case with the beautifully engraved British Royal Coat of Arms to the back of the case. The case opens to reveal a plain inner case with the inside of the back cover engraved with another Royal Crest and an inscription Presented to Mr. John Strapp by an Old friend and brother. There are Masonic symbols engraved on either side of the inscription.

Movement: The fabulous fully skeletonized keywind lever movement signed William Wood 69 Lord Street Liverpool. The plates are all engraved with scrolls and flowers the wheels are fully jewelled with rubies and the fusee abor has a massive ruby jewel. Masonic symbols are also incorporated in the movement.

This watch is rare and important because of it's association with the Royal Coat of Arms, Freemasonry and the fact that the watch is completely skeletonized. This watch is a collector's item which would complement any collection.
