Basel world 2011 : New 42mm Rolex Explorer II

The Rolex Explorer II celebrates it 40th Anniversary with a new version. We had seen the new Rolex Explorer II last year in a leaked video. So while it was a very interesting new release, it felt anti-climactic, or so we thought. What none of the images revealed is that the new 2011 Rolex Explorer II has a case enlarged to 42 mm. Inside you will find a new movement, Rolex calibre 3187, which  incorporates the PARAFLEX shock absorbers and the non-magnetic PARACHROM hair- spring.
The orange colored 24 hour hand, pays homage to the 1971 model.  Like the previous version the 24 hour hand can be set independently from the 12 hour hand
