In time for Baselworld 2015, Hublot have released details for their new Big Bang Ferrari pieces – the latest to symbolise the partnership between the prestigious watch and car brand over the past 3 years.
The Big Bang Ferrari Black Ceramic and Big Bang Grey Ceramic are named for their colour combinations, offering a choice to the keen buyer. With 45mm cases in full ceramic, the push buttons for the chronograph are made of titanium and finished with satin for the grey model or PVD treated for the black model.
But the most distinguishable feature of the watch is the strap. Created from black rubber and leather by Schedoni of Moden, Italy. If you’re looking to stand out from the crowd, the Black Ceramic has a blue and white ‘racing stripe’ to stand out against the red whilst the Grey Ceramic racing stripe is black and white to contrast the grey if you’re looking for something with more subtlety. Both combinations of colours still hold true to Ferrari’s essence – the red is symbolic of the sport brands and the grey represents the North American Racing Team.
That’s not where the Ferrari name stops in the new Big Bang models though. No Hublot Ferrari watch would be complete without the running motifs through the model such as the ‘prancing horse’ Ferrari logo at 9 0’clock whilst the chronograph at 3 0’clock depicts a yellow backed date aperture. Most strikingly the open skeleton dial allows you to see the date numerals rotating around, much like the Hublot Limited Edition Pele created for the World Cup Rio 2014.
The  movement of the new Ferrari timepieces are the HUB 1241 Unico movement, an automatic calibre which comprises of a flyback chronograph and boasts a power reserve of 72 hours. A movement like this deserves an exhibition back which Hublot were smart enough to release – displayed through a ceramic caseback and protected with sapphire glass.
Whilst no pricing is available for the pieces yet, Hublot have a history of making fantastic collaborations with Ferrari such as the 2013 model MP-05 LaFerrari, a 50 day power reserve with a mechanical movement. With only 250 pieces being produced of the new 2015 model, we predict it’s going to be a key favourite with fans of Hublot and Ferrari.
